Compatible with Panasonic’s new enhanced DECT handsets, the up-to-the-minute KX-TCA155 and KX-TCA255 Digital Enhanced Cordless Telephony (DECT) handsets allow users to make and receive both internal and external voice and data transmission calls from anywhere on the premises through a range of strategically placed cell stations.

As well as providing an excellent opportunity to build brand image through efficient telephone call handling, DECT extensions allow smaller companies to raise their profile and appear larger from the outset. The KX-TDA systems have the option of a novel, low-cost DECT solution by allowing DECT cell stations to be wired not only onto specific DECT hardware cassettes, but directly to existing extensions, eliminating the need to purchase a DECT card, saving money and making DECT more affordable for more companies.

An Established DECT System

A DECT System consists of base stations that are placed around the building, the positioning and amount of base stations are determined by a site survey. The range of a base station varies from 50 meters indoors and up to 600 meters outdoors. For calls to have good reception throughout the building each base station must be able to transfer the call to another base station. This means that a base station’s signal strength must overlap with another's as shown in the chart below:
